CREATING BUSINESS ALIGNMENT: IMPORTANT?

Yes, senior team capacity and goals alignment is critically important. Are you wondering why - and how to check the alignment? Next question...  "How will I know (and how can I prove to my client...) that the team is all over the map?"

Aha! Great question. "How?" You ask them. But not just willy-nilly, you ask them to each analyze the business using a set of generally accepted best practices, and then you compare the results. Like oil levels and tire pressure - and alignment. Yesterday a Growth-Driver described best-in-class as having "high quality operations", and it rings true.  High quality people and processes, with predictable cash flow to fund growth. 

Here's how your colleagues are measuring alignment. But first, can I please share a data point? With over 12 years in this game I have never seen an analysis uncover alignment. Just the opposite: teams have widely divergent views about strategic capacity and aren't even aligned around business goals.  Most clients don't even realize it's true, and deeply value the help they get seeing and fixing this issue.
